The stars didn't fall today; Wednesday, February 17

Doing some readings for one of my classes and we're currently studying the use of torture on terrorist suspects and its legal implications. Skipped large chunks of the text that were vividly... descriptive. I can't help thinking about something though. The discourse is always focused on the people who are on the receiving end of torture which is rightly so, but it got me thinking, what about the ones on the giving end? Are they mere humans without a shred of humanity? Or are they forced into doing so due to notions of duty to the state and if so, does the guilt of doing so eats them alive until they die? Can one's soul survive while one commits such heinous acts that violate the very essence of human nature?

"Oh, fox!"

'Kitsune' is the Japanese word for 'fox'.
